'Immortal Songs' K-Tigers Zero Wins Final... Park Sang-chul Praises "Globalization of K-Trot" (Summary)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Hyesoo] KBS2's 'Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend' (hereafter 'Immortal Songs') crowned K-Tigers Zero as the final winner.
The episode aired on the afternoon of the 2nd on KBS2 was themed around trot legends Park Sang-chul & Park Hyun-bin. On this day, K-Tigers Zero, Choi Jung-won, Yuk Joong-wan Band, Forestella, Lee Chang-min, and Purple Rain competed.
The first match was between Lee Chang-min from Park Hyun-bin's team and Choi Jung-won from Park Sang-chul's team. Lee Chang-min arranged "Shabang Shabang" into a stylish swing jazz, while Choi Jung-won transformed "Mujogeon" into a dazzling musical number, heating up the stage. Especially, Choi Jung-won's performance lying flat on the floor was so embarrassing that announcer Jo Hang-ri from the judging panel reportedly said, "My ears turned red from embarrassment." This stage earned Choi Jung-won a victory with his passionate performance.
Next was Forestella from Park Hyun-bin's team. Forestella delivered "Gondre Mandre" with lively dance moves and refreshing vocal power. Park Hyun-bin said, "I see a possibility for a win," and the judging panel commented, "They made us want to applaud." With this performance, Forestella defeated Choi Jung-won and secured a win.
The following stage featured Purple Rain from Park Sang-chul's team performing "Jaok-a." Purple Rain, who previously won the final victory on 'Immortal Songs - The 90s Generation Comes,' arranged "Jaok-a" with a poignant rock sound that stirred emotions. Park Sang-chul was moved, saying, "I should sing like that too." Ultimately, Purple Rain defeated Forestella and earned a win.
The fifth performance was by Yuk Joong-wan Band from Park Hyun-bin's team, who chose "Oppaman Mideo" for their stage. Park Sang-chul found it difficult to judge, saying, "It's hard to tell which is better," while Choi Jung-won predicted, "I think Purple Rain will win." Yuk Joong-wan Band won this round.
Finally, K-Tigers Zero presented a rearranged version of Park Sang-chul's "Hanggu-ui Namja." With dazzling and powerful performances, K-Tigers Zero received lavish praise from both the participants and the judging panel. K-Tigers Zero took the final victory, leading Park Sang-chul's team to win.
