COVID-19 Cases Increased by 9 Yesterday... Total Domestic Cases 10,774 (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] On the 1st, the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 9. Among them, 8 cases were imported from overseas, and 1 case was locally transmitted.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on this day, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 9 from the previous day’s midnight, reaching a total of 10,774.
Among the 9 new confirmed cases, 8 were imported cases. Of these, 4 were identified during airport quarantine, and the remaining cases were confirmed positive after returning to local communities: 1 in Seoul, 1 in Incheon, and 2 in Gyeonggi Province.
The single locally transmitted case was reported in Gyeongbuk Province.
As of midnight on this day, the cumulative number of deaths among confirmed COVID-19 cases stands at 248. One confirmed patient who was receiving inpatient treatment at Myeongji Hospital in Gyeonggi Province passed away the previous day.

The number of recovered and released patients increased by 13, totaling 9,072. The domestic recovery rate is 84.2%. Currently, 1,454 confirmed patients remain in isolation and are undergoing treatment.
