On the 30th, the SBS entertainment program 'Delicious Rendezvous' featured the Nongbengers (Baek Jong-won, Yang Se-hyung, Kim Hee-chul, Kim Dong-jun) embarking on a project to save Gunsan jjukkumi (webfoot octopus). On this day, especially, Delicious Mates Lee Na-eun and singer Soyou appeared as guests.
Previously, the Nongbengers donated all their group advertising appearance fees. In response, 'SBS 8 News' visited the filming site to cover them.
Yang Se-hyung, with an unusually nervous demeanor, responded to the question about what kind of donation it was by saying, "(Baek Jong-won) Teacher, shouldn't you start? I don't know what to do," and ended the interview.
They revealed that Baek Jong-won had proposed the donation in the past, and the members immediately agreed with his opinion. Baek Jong-won recalled, "It happened during a drinking party." Kim Hee-chul added, "We talked about donations even before the COVID-19 pandemic," while imitating Baek Jong-won's voice.
Additionally, Baek Jong-won stated, "It wasn't because of COVID-19, but since the whole nation was struggling, we decided to make it a fund to overcome COVID-19."
Regarding the negative views on publicizing donations, he said, "I think the opposite. It is more important to let people know that you donated than the amount or frequency. When people recognize the donation, it makes you want to do it again."
Kim Dong-jun said, "It started from the idea that it would be good to donate," and added, "What is similar between 'Delicious Rendezvous' and donations is that just following our cooking can be another form of donation to farmers and fishermen." He further explained that this group donation was "with the intention of sharing positive influence."
Kim Hee-chul expressed his conviction, saying, "I think the willingness to do it is good, so please don't treat donation as a battle."
