Seodaemun-gu to Create 'Sanchaek Library' at the Intersection of Yeonkyollo and Ansan Jarak-gil...Improving Access to Ansan Jarak-gil for Residents of Yeonhui-dong and Hongje 1-dong near Seodaemun Library
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced on the 28th that it recently opened a "connecting hiking trail" from Seodaemun Library (412 Moraenae-ro) to Ansan (鞍山) Jarak-gil.
This trail, created in the San 2-3 area of Yeonhui-dong, is 400 meters long and 1.5 meters wide, consisting of a wooden deck path and stairs. Construction began in December last year and was completed earlier this month.
In particular, at the point where this connecting hiking trail meets Ansan Jarak-gil, a citizen reading space called the "Sanchaek Library" was also established.
The district plans to develop this newly created trail and library into a space where mountains (山) and books (冊) harmonize, in collaboration with Seodaemun Library.
Books will be continuously stocked on the shelves of the Sanchaek (Mountain-Book) Library so that citizens passing through the connecting hiking trail can freely rest and read, and new books will be introduced monthly.
Additionally, the path from Seodaemun Library to Ansan Jarak-gil will be divided into three sections, each themed as the Path of Reflection, the Path of Communication, and the Path of Sharing.
With the opening of this connecting hiking trail, accessibility to Ansan Jarak-gil for residents of Yeonhui-dong and Hongje 1-dong near Seodaemun Library is expected to improve.
