Installation of 'Illegal Advertisement Prevention Sheets' in Dongdaemun-gu
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) is promoting the ‘Illegal Advertisement Attachment Prevention Sheet Installation Project’ to maintain a clean urban landscape.
After removing illegal advertisements that are indiscriminately and messily attached to roadside utility poles, streetlights, and traffic signal poles, which damage the cityscape, anti-attachment sheets will be applied to block further illegal advertisement postings.
The district plans to complete maintenance by the end of May on 497 utility poles and streetlights located in the section from Jangan-dong Intersection to Janghanpyeong Station Intersection, where the annual ‘World Street Dance Festival’ is held every fall, investing 50 million KRW in the project.
Additionally, to prevent illegal advertisement postings in the area, an ‘Illegal Advertisement Crackdown Team’ will be operated. The team, organized into two groups of three members each, patrols designated areas twice daily to manage illegal advertisements.
Since January of this year, they have collected 44,200 illegally posted and distributed posters and flyers, as well as 6,000 business cards and stickers, contributing to a cleaner urban environment.
