Gwangju University Receives Positive Response for Online Learning Method Special Lecture via YouTube Live
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyuk-jong) announced on the 27th that the YouTube Live learning method special lectures, which allow students to communicate with professors to strengthen their self-directed learning capabilities, are receiving great responses.
According to the Gwangju University Center for Teaching and Learning, this online learning method special lecture does not play pre-recorded videos but uses YouTube to listen to lectures by the responsible professors and provides real-time interactive classes.
In particular, students can freely exchange real-time conversations about any questions or inquiries, making it very popular.
The Gwangju University Center for Teaching and Learning has conducted two sessions of the learning method special lectures via YouTube Live during the first semester of 2020.
The first lecture was held on the 6th with the theme "Time Management Strategies for Successful University Life" for about an hour, communicating with about 40 enrolled students through real-time comments. On the 22nd, Professor Lim Tae-hyung conducted the second lecture on "Basic Report Writing."
On the 7th of next month, Professor Oh Seon-ah will hold the third lecture titled "Portfolio for an Attractive Self-Introduction."
The YouTube Live learning method special lectures can be rewatched through the Gwangju University Center for Teaching and Learning YouTube channel, and they plan to expand YouTube lectures by developing various lecture contents.
Han Gyu-moo, director of the Gwangju University Center for Teaching and Learning, said, "Online learning methods were prepared to provide students with necessary learning strategies and to minimize learning gaps that may occur during non-face-to-face classes," adding, "We will continuously monitor students' opinions to build a more advanced lecture system."
Meanwhile, the Gwangju University Center for Teaching and Learning is focusing on developing content using real-time video lectures and YouTube for high-quality non-face-to-face online lectures. Along with the existing online lecture operation systems such as 知Well Studio and e-Campus, they plan to enhance lecture delivery and improve students' academic achievement and participation.
