Air Busan Implements Fever Screening with Thermal Cameras on All Flights...
Installation of 13 Thermal Cameras at All Domestic Airports to Check Passenger Fever
Adding 'Disinfection Services' and Strengthening Contactless Measures... Preparing for COVID-19 Driven New Normal
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Air Busan announced on the 27th that starting from the 25th, it has been conducting passenger fever screenings using thermal imaging cameras on all flight routes to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Accordingly, Air Busan has installed a total of 13 thermal imaging cameras in front of the boarding gates at all domestic airport locations currently in operation (Gimhae, Gimpo, Ulsan, Jeju airports) to check all passengers for fever. The company explained that since thermal imaging cameras are used instead of thermometers, there is no concern about delays in the boarding process.
Air Busan plans to advise passengers with a body temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher during the fever screening to change their itinerary or assign them seats separated from other passengers.
Air Busan also intends to install thermal imaging cameras at overseas branches when international flights resume in the future.
Meanwhile, Air Busan is also undertaking efforts to respond to the 'New Normal' era caused by COVID-19. To ensure thorough and immediate in-flight disinfection, it has registered disinfection as a business item for its ground handling company to strengthen its own disinfection capabilities. Additionally, at airports, it operates mobile boarding pass services and unmanned kiosks to enhance contactless services.
