Hoban to Hire 100 Employees Despite COVID-19 Challenges
[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Amid many companies postponing or downsizing their recruitment due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), Hoban Group is launching a public recruitment for the first half of the year.
Hoban Construction and Hoban Industry, construction affiliates of Hoban Group, announced on the 26th that they will publicly recruit about 100 new and experienced employees for the first half of 2020 until the 5th of next month.
Song Jong-min, president of Hoban Construction, said, "Although uncertainty is high due to COVID-19, we decided to proceed with the first half public recruitment to proactively secure outstanding talent and contribute to creating new jobs. We hope capable talents who can flexibly respond to external environmental changes and bring diverse ideas to Hoban will apply."
Applications for Hoban Group construction affiliates' recruitment documents can be submitted through the Hoban Group recruitment website until the 5th of next month. There are a total of 22 job positions, among which the new employee recruitment includes management positions such as accounting, finance, and development business, and technical positions such as architecture, electrical, facilities, and safety. For experienced recruitment, management positions include business planning, audit, facility management, urban maintenance, complex development, finance, and accounting, while technical positions include architectural construction, civil engineering/construction administration, electrical, quality, safety, health, and AS field.
The eligibility requirements for new applicants are those expected to graduate or already graduated by July 2020. Experienced applicants must have relevant experience in the applied field. Common requirements include no disqualifications for overseas travel, and possession of relevant certifications is preferred.
Applicants who pass the document screening will undergo AI competency tests and interviews, and successful candidates will be announced in early July. After completing the new employee orientation, final admission will be confirmed. Detailed information can be found on the Hoban Group recruitment website.

Since last year, Hoban Group has introduced AI competency tests to recruit diverse talents and will conduct AI tests again this year. By evaluating applicants' tendencies and competencies online, it eliminates the time and cost constraints for applicants from provinces traveling to Seoul for aptitude tests and allows for unbiased selection of diverse applicants. Hoban Group also utilizes the analysis results of the AI tests in face-to-face interviews afterward.
