Gwangju City Identifies 210 Cases of '2020 Livelihood Regulation Innovation Tasks'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that it conducted the '2020 Public Life Regulation Innovation Task' contest jointly with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety from February 19 to the 10th of this month, discovering 210 tasks.
By category, there were ▲81 tasks in public welfare ▲101 in daily life ▲5 in employment and jobs ▲21 in support for small business owners and SMEs ▲2 in new industries, showing a 64% increase compared to 128 tasks last year.
The discovered tasks will go through evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Public Life Regulation Review Team and public voting, and by October, 20 tasks will be selected as excellent tasks. The excellent proposers will receive prize money and the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.
Last year, Gwangju City's task of 'Allowing shuttle operation for social welfare facilities' won the grand prize.
This year's tasks include innovative proposals such as 'Establishing registration standards for tire specialist repair shops' to legalize wheel balance and alignment maintenance at tire specialty stores, attracting attention.

Chae Kyung-gi, the city's legal affairs officer, said, "Many citizens participated in this public life regulation innovation task idea contest," adding, "The increase in citizen participation is expected to greatly help actively discovering regulations that cause inconvenience in daily life and hinder the revitalization of the local economy."
