[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] China reported 6 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in a single day on the 23rd.
On the 24th, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that as of midnight, there were 6 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. Two of these cases were imported from overseas, while the remaining 4 were locally transmitted within mainland China, with 3 cases in Heilongjiang Province and 1 case in Guangdong Province.
So far, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in China stands at 82,804. Among them, 4,632 have died and 77,257 have been discharged from hospitals. Currently, 915 confirmed patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals. There are 20 suspected cases and 8,362 close contacts under medical observation.
The number of asymptomatic infections, which are not included in the confirmed case statistics, increased by 34 in one day, bringing the total to 979.

Meanwhile, outside mainland China but within the Greater China region, a total of 1,507 confirmed cases have been reported: 1,035 in Hong Kong, 45 in Macao, and 427 in Taiwan.
