Nongshim Applies 'Easy Open' Label to Baeksansu Water
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Nongshim announced on the 23rd that it has applied an 'Easy-Open' label, which facilitates recycling, to the Baeksansu bottle.
By grabbing and peeling off the white triangular part at the top of the Baeksansu label, the label can be easily removed. The phrase "Please separate the label" was also included to aid understanding.
A Nongshim official explained, "As separating plastic and vinyl for disposal has recently been emphasized for environmental protection, we applied the Easy-Open label to all Baeksansu products." Nongshim Baeksansu is sold in 2ℓ, 1ℓ, 500㎖, and 330㎖ sizes.
At the same time, Nongshim also promoted lightweighting of PET bottles. The amount of plastic used in the 500㎖ Baeksansu product was reduced by about 13.5% compared to before. The plastic lightweighting will be gradually applied to all products.

A Nongshim official said, "We are researching PET bottle lightweighting within the range that satisfies both stable grip and product safety when drinking water," adding, "We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility for a clean environment."
