Seoul Spring Chamber Music Festival Postponed to Second Half of Year Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The 15th Seoul Spring Chamber Music Festival (SSF) has been postponed to the second half of this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Originally, this year's SSF was scheduled to be held from May 13 to 24 at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Seoul Arts Center, Lotte Concert Hall, and Yun Posun's Old House under the theme "Friendship through Music."
The SSF Secretariat explained that the final decision to postpone was made because the COVID-19 crisis alert level remains at "severe," and the government announced an extension of "social distancing" measures on the 19th.
SSF Artistic Director Kang Dong-seok stated, "Since it is impossible for performers coming from abroad to enter the country, and it seems difficult to guarantee an atmosphere where audiences can safely enjoy the concerts, we decided to postpone the May schedule to after summer. We hope that everyone can gather comfortably and enjoy the music then."
