According to Bloomberg on the 21st (local time), Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced this during a live broadcast. Previously, Singapore had planned to implement measures such as closing schools and workplaces except for essential businesses until May 4. However, as the spread of COVID-19 intensified recently, Singapore decided to extend these measures for an additional four weeks.
Prime Minister Lee appealed, "I hope you understand this short pain to eliminate the virus, protect the health and safety of our loved ones, and simultaneously revive the economy."
