Yeosu City "We Rent Agricultural Machinery Even on Holidays"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 21st that it will operate agricultural machinery rental services even on holidays to alleviate labor shortages in rural areas and support timely farming during the peak farming season, such as rice planting.
The period is from the 25th of this month to the 31st of next month. Rental machinery dispatch is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and returns are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
For large agricultural machinery (tractors, combines, skid loaders), free transportation to the site is provided, and simple training on machinery operation and safety rules is available at the time of dispatch.
Farmers who need to rent agricultural machinery can make a reservation in advance by visiting or calling the Yeosu Agricultural Technology Center (Agricultural Machinery Rental Office).
The city continuously operates rental services for expensive or high-demand agricultural machinery to reduce farmers' burden of purchasing machinery and increase the mechanization rate of farming operations.
Also, to support farmers going through difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, rental fees for agricultural machinery have been reduced by 50% from the 1st of this month until July 31st.
