[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver Business Platform (NBP) announced on the 21st that it will provide Naver Cloud Platform services to Hanwha Life Insurance's insurance core system, building it into a hybrid cloud environment.

This marks the first time a major domestic financial company has transitioned its core business system to the cloud. The construction of this insurance core system is a complete overhaul designed not only to improve the core operations that Hanwha Life has been running for the past 17 years but also to support future innovations. Following the first phase of the insurance core project conducted last year, this project will proceed over the next two years starting this month.

The infrastructure of the insurance core system, which was previously built on-premises, will be constructed in a hybrid cloud form linked with the Naver Cloud Platform. NBP will support not only the development period but also the infrastructure operation after construction. NBP will build and operate a hybrid cloud product, CaaS, and a dual-database (DB) zero-downtime service in Hanwha Life's data center to ensure that the insurance core system can agilely respond to future business demand changes.

Additionally, to allow flexible expansion of the insurance core system in the future, scalability will be provided through data center expansion as well as extension to the public cloud, Naver Financial Cloud Zone. Kim Tae-chang, Executive Director of NBP's Cloud Business Division, said, "Because NBP directly manages everything related to the cloud platform and products that form the basis of the CaaS system, the cloud service can be used more stably, which is a key feature of this cloud system."
