Gwangju Buk-gu Launches Employment and Startup Support Program for Low-Income Youth
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 21st that it will promote the ‘2020 Customized Employment and Start-up Support Hope Stepping Stone Class for Care Neighbors’ project starting next month.
The Hope Stepping Stone Class is a public contest project hosted by Gwangju City, designed to assist vulnerable youth with employment and start-up by providing support such as certification acquisition and vocational training.
Accordingly, Buk-gu will promote various self-reliance support projects with a project budget of 100 million won, allocated through the contest selection, together with the cooperating institution, Mudeung Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, until December.
First, for about 40 youths aged between 18 and 34 from basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income households, integrated services for employment and start-up support will be provided, including ▲1:1 integrated case management ▲aptitude tests and vision consulting ▲vocational training and certification acquisition education ▲post-management.
In particular, psychological counseling and family coaching programs will be operated to discover reclusive youth isolated due to social and personal factors, aiming to restore self-esteem and promote work motivation.
