On the 20th, the city signed a business agreement with NH Nonghyup Bank Yangsan Branch and Gyeongnam Bank Yangsan Branch to ensure smooth supply of prepaid cards. In addition, a dedicated team of city officials was formed for rapid response related to the emergency disaster relief fund.
The project cost for the Gyeongnam-type Emergency Disaster Relief Fund will be matched and paid jointly by Gyeongsangnam-do and the city budget. It targets a total of 50,436 households with health insurance premium income assessment standards at or below 100% of the median income according to the health insurance premium income assessment standard table. Support amounts are differentiated as 200,000 KRW for single-person households, 300,000 KRW for two-person households, 400,000 KRW for three-person households, and 500,000 KRW for households of four or more persons.
Eligible recipients are selected using health insurance premium payment data, and notification letters and application forms are sent by mail to the target households.
Households with members subject to comprehensive real estate tax whose combined property tax base is 900 million KRW or more, or high-asset individuals with financial income subject to comprehensive income tax of 20 million KRW or more, are excluded from eligibility. Additionally, those receiving government support such as temporary living support for low-income groups, temporary child-rearing support, emergency welfare support, or COVID-19 living support (households with members hospitalized or quarantined for 14 days or more) are also not eligible for additional support.
Households receiving the application form can complete it and visit their local eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center once with their ID to apply and receive the prepaid card simultaneously. To reduce inconvenience such as queuing and to maintain social distancing, applications are accepted according to a mask 5-day rotation system based on the last digit of the birth year: applicants with last digits 1 or 6 on Monday, 2 or 7 on Tuesday, 3 or 8 on Wednesday, 4 or 9 on Thursday, and 5 or 0 on Friday.
The prepaid cards provided can only be used within Yangsan City to help the local commercial sector, and the usage period is until September 30. They cannot be used at department stores, large supermarkets, or online shopping malls.
