[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] China reported 11 new COVID-19 cases in a single day on the 20th.
On the 21st, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that as of midnight, there were 11 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. Four of these were imported cases infected overseas and entering China, while seven were locally transmitted cases within mainland China. Six cases were reported in Heilongjiang Province and one in Guangdong Province.
So far, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in China stands at 82,758. Excluding 4,632 deaths and 77,123 discharged patients, 1,003 patients remain confirmed and are currently receiving treatment in hospitals. There are 37 suspected cases, and 8,791 close contacts are under medical observation.
Additionally, 37 new asymptomatic infections, which are not included in the confirmed case statistics, were reported, bringing the total number of asymptomatic infections under medical observation to 992.

Meanwhile, outside mainland China but within the Greater China region, a total of 1,492 cumulative COVID-19 cases have been reported: 1,025 in Hong Kong, 45 in Macao, and 422 in Taiwan.
