Ssangyong Motor, 100,000 Units Sold of 'Rexton Sports' 27 Months After Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] SsangYong Motor announced on the 21st that the Rexton Sports has surpassed 100,000 units sold in 27 months since its launch, writing a new chapter in the tradition of the sports brand.
As of the 20th, Rexton Sports achieved total sales of 100,000 units, ranking third after the Tivoli (2016), which sold 100,000 units in 17 months, and the first-generation Rexton (2003), which took 26 months. The ‘open-type Rexton’ Rexton Sports, launched in 2018, reached 10,000 cumulative contracts within a month of its release and recorded sales of over 40,000 units that same year, creating a sensation.
The sports brand pioneered the domestic market for Sports Utility Trucks (SUT) with the ‘pioneer’ Musso Sports. Following the innovative second-generation Actyon Sports and the third-generation Korando Sports, which was loved for the longest period (2012?2017), the fourth-generation Rexton Sports is expected to help the brand achieve annual domestic sales of 400,000 units.
In return, SsangYong Motor offers up to 1.5 million KRW in discounts, including a special 500,000 KRW discount for business owners or customers owning cargo vehicles under 1.5 tons or vehicles older than 7 years who purchase a Rexton Sports in April. Additionally, the Yeoyumanman365 installment plan, which completely reduces the initial burden, is available for Rexton Sports buyers.
