[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has advanced one month's worth of activity fees to senior participants in the senior job project who are experiencing economic difficulties due to the suspension of the senior job project last month amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The payment targets are 1,506 out of a total of 1,771 senior public activity participants who agreed to additional activities after the project resumed.
The payment amount is up to 270,000 KRW per person (based on 30 hours of work per month), with a total of 416.03 million KRW paid.
Participants who received the activity fees in advance plan to extend their working hours by the amount prepaid after the senior job project resumes.
The district plans to support seniors who did not agree to the advance payment by allowing them to receive additional activity fees through extended working hours later.
