[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 20th that the Nano Bridge construction project to support the Nano National Industrial Complex is currently 54% complete, aiming for opening in March 2022.
This project began construction in August 2017 to facilitate smooth logistics transportation for the Nano Convergence National Industrial Complex and to alleviate city traffic. The Nano Bridge is being built with a length of 445m, a width of 26.5m, and two intersections. It is included in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's designated special area and development plan, with a total budget of 48.4 billion KRW, including 24.9 billion KRW in national and provincial funds.
The Nano Bridge construction was temporarily suspended for about seven months due to environmental complaints such as view obstruction and noise, but after resolving these issues through consultations with related agencies, construction resumed in January 2019. Currently, four piers and the lower structure have been completed, and the main tower is planned to be completed within this year.
