Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station, Putting All Efforts into Fire Prevention
Special Fire Safety Inspections Conducted on Traditional Temples and Cultural Properties in the District
Dedicated Training on 'Team-Based Tactical Evaluation for Fire Suppression Units'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Moon Gisik) is making every effort to prevent fire outbreaks.
Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Moon Gisik) announced on the 20th that it will conduct special fire inspections on 43 traditional temples and cultural heritage sites within its jurisdiction until the end of this month to prevent fire accidents caused by carelessness during the spring season.
This special inspection was prepared because most traditional temples and cultural heritage sites are wooden structures vulnerable to fire, and due to the use of fire and the entry of unspecified many people, the risk of fire is high, so fire risk factors need to be removed in advance.
The main contents include ▲ safety management guidance and removal of fire-vulnerable factors such as candles and lanterns ▲ checking the management status of firefighting facilities such as fire extinguishers and outdoor fire hydrants ▲ strengthening autonomous safety management through education on initial fire response methods and evacuation guidance in case of emergency.
Along with this, efforts are being made to prepare for the annually conducted ‘team unit tactical training evaluation’ to strengthen firefighting tactical skills and continuously hone professional techniques.
The evaluation will be held on the 23rd in front of the Gwangsan Fire Station building, targeting 9 teams composed of fire suppression personnel.
According to the fire suppression four-person tactical training evaluation sheet, individual task evaluations will be conducted including ▲ wearing firefighting suits and personal safety equipment and equipment inspection ▲ deployment and water spraying of the first hose line ▲ carrying, installing, and climbing the extension ladder ▲ attaching and hoisting equipment using ropes ▲ deployment and water spraying of the second hose line.
