Jeonnam Province Provides Free Computers to Bridge the Information Gap for Vulnerable Groups
Recruitment of Beneficiaries for the 'Love Green PC Distribution Project' Until the 1st of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province (Governor Kim Young-rok) has decided to provide computers free of charge to bridge the information gap for vulnerable groups.
Jeonnam Province announced on the 20th that it will recruit recipients for the '2020 Love Green PC Distribution Project' until the 1st of next month.
The 'Love Green PC Distribution Project' refurbishes used PCs donated by public institutions and companies and distributes them free of charge to people with disabilities, basic livelihood security recipients, low-income families, single-parent families, child heads of households, disabled veterans, marriage immigrants, North Korean defectors, and related organizations.
Eligible recipients are residents of Jeonnam Province who have not received a Love Green PC since 2018 and belong to information-vulnerable groups.
Applications can be submitted by individuals to the informatization department of their city or county, and by organizations to the Jeonnam Province Smart Information Office.
Applications can be submitted by mail, email, fax, or in person, but due to the 'COVID-19' situation, applicants must contact the relevant department in advance before submitting.
The PCs to be distributed this year will be equipped with the latest OS, Pentium i5 or higher, 4GB memory, 500GB SSD or HDD, along with an LCD monitor of 19 inches or larger, and will also include MS Office programs.
