Governor Kim Kyung-soo: "Gyeongnam-style Emergency Disaster Basic Income to be Paid from the 23rd"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gyeongsangnam-do will provide emergency disaster relief funds ranging from 200,000 to 500,000 KRW to households with median income at or below 100% starting from the 23rd.
On the 20th, Gyeongnam Province held an online executive meeting to finalize the Gyeongnam-type emergency disaster relief fund payment plan as part of measures to support those affected by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The support targets households paying health insurance premiums based on the income assessment standard table for median income at or below 100%, with differentiated support ranging from 200,000 KRW to a maximum of 500,000 KRW per household.
Starting next week, the province will send guidance letters and application forms by mail to eligible recipients for 30 days and will accept applications through eup, myeon, and dong community service centers. On-site applications will be conducted in a five-day rotation system in accordance with 'social distancing' measures.
To alleviate residents' inconvenience, the province has established a Livelihood Economy Integrated Information Center TF to provide guidance from the time of emergency disaster relief fund application reception. Additionally, through detailed guidance, promotion, and thorough preparation, they plan to minimize potential issues during the initial phase of payment implementation.
Kim Kyung-soo, Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, emphasized, "The core of livelihood measures amid the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 is speed," adding, "Along with swift support, we should not fear overlapping support but focus on identifying and eliminating blind spots."
