To Revitalize the Local Economy, Essential Goods Purchased at Traditional Markets Using Gwanak Sarang Gift Certificates... 30,000 KRW Worth of Essentials Supported for 336 Low-Income Vulnerable Households Including Single-Parent Families Over 4 Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Park Jun-hee, the mayor of Gwanak District, will use 30% of his salary, which he has returned for four months, to support low-income vulnerable groups such as single-parent families.
This decision was made to share the pain with residents struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to help support the livelihoods of vulnerable groups.
Mayor Park Jun-hee purchased Gwanak Love Gift Certificates and Onnuri Gift Certificates and then bought daily necessities at traditional markets.
He plans to create packages of daily necessities worth about 30,000 won, including rice, ramen, curry, ham, and canned goods, and support approximately 336 low-income vulnerable households such as single-parent families through the local community centers over four months.
On the morning of the 17th, Mayor Park Jun-hee held a delivery ceremony for the consolation goods on the first floor of the district office and handed over the goods to the local community centers.
At the delivery ceremony, Mayor Park said, “I decided to return my salary with the natural intention of sharing the pain with residents who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. Although it is a small sharing, I am glad it can be used in a meaningful way.”
