'Corona Battle' Nurse and Medical Staff Support Relay
'#TogetherLet's 2000 People Join'
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] Messages of support and donations for medical staff treating COVID-19 patients are pouring in both online and offline.
Seonghoon Oh, who runs the nurse community-related startup 'NurseNote,' shared supportive messages on social networking services (SNS) with the hashtag '#nurways_with_you,' meaning 'We are always with nurses.' The 'relay support message' started by Oh as number one continued up to the 1,450th message throughout March. Oh promised to donate 500 won per message, and combined with donations from the nurse shopping mall 'Nurskiny,' the total amount grew to 2 million won.
Accordingly, NurseNote and Nurskiny visited Daegu Dongsan Hospital on the 14th to deliver support items such as hand cream and fatigue recovery supplements. Photos of the 1,450 supporters who participated in the campaign were made into a large mosaic-style frame and presented. Currently, more than 2,000 people, including nurses, nursing students, and the general public, have joined this campaign.

As the online campaign to support medical staff spread, the government announced plans to promote a similar initiative. It is the 'Thanks To Challenge,' where people take photos or videos supporting medical staff and share them on SNS. Kanglip Kim, Vice Minister of Health and Welfare, said, "It conveys the meaning that we are overcoming the COVID-19 crisis together thanks to the medical staff who are silently doing their best."
