POSCO Establishes Collaborative Work Culture to Achieve Tangible Results
Implementation of the 'Collaboration Points System' to Promote Employee Collaboration Culture Starting April
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] POSCO is breaking down barriers among organizational members and establishing an organic, field-centered collaborative work culture to build a robust organization and achieve tangible results through communication and cooperation across departments.
Since April, POSCO has introduced the 'Collaboration Point System' to promote organic communication and a culture of collaboration related to work. The 'Collaboration Point System' allows employees from different departments to gift points to each other after sharing knowledge, information, or performing other tasks together.
POSCO, which owns integrated steel production process facilities connecting molten iron to final products, considers collaboration among processes and departments as the core of its competitiveness. To promote this, the company plans to introduce a 'Collaboration KPI' in employee evaluations starting this year and actively reflect 'Collaboration Points' in the assessments.
Additionally, from this year, POSCO has launched the application-based 'Open Lab' and the video platform 'POSTube (POSCO + YouTube)' to encourage problem-solving through collaboration and sharing of work knowledge.
The Open Lab is an internal technical consultation application platform where the technical research institute promptly responds to technical difficulties faced by field employees. When field employees register technical inquiries, in-house technical researchers provide immediate answers.
POSTube is a knowledge-sharing video platform where veteran employees can pass on field expertise through short videos. It operates as a user-generated content (UGC) platform, allowing employees to upload and share videos of their job know-how. Employees who create and share videos receive production support funds, and this is also reflected as one of the criteria for becoming a POSCO Master Craftsman, providing motivation.
