[4·15 General Election] 21st General Election Voter Turnout Gwangju 65.9% · Jeonnam 67.8%
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Voting for the 21st National Assembly election held on the 15th has ended.
There was much attention on whether Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeonnam could exceed a '70% voter turnout' for the first time in 28 years since 1992, but the turnout remained in the high 60% range.
According to the National Election Commission, the combined early voting rates from the 10th to 11th and the voting rate on the day resulted in a provisional turnout of 65.9% in Gwangju and 67.8% in Jeonnam.
In this general election, out of 1,208,264 registered voters in Gwangju, 796,6517 participated in early voting. The district with the highest turnout was Nam-gu (67.3%).
The number of registered voters in Jeonnam was 1,592,850, of which 1,079,806 participated.
The region with the highest turnout in Jeonnam was Hampyeong (76%).

Meanwhile, the early voting rates in Gwangju and Jeonnam recorded all-time highs of 32.18% and 35.77%, respectively.
