[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Harry Harris, the U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, expressed gratitude to the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 14th as the Korean-made COVID-19 diagnostic test kits were prepared for shipment to the United States.
Ambassador Harris stated on Twitter that day, "The COVID-19 test kits have been loaded at Incheon International Airport and are ready for shipment to the United States."

View original imageIn a follow-up post, he said, "The Korea-U.S. alliance is strong, and I thank the (Korean) Ministry of Foreign Affairs for enabling FEMA's purchase of the kits."
Earlier, on the 24th of last month, President Trump requested support for Korean-made COVID-19 test kits during a phone call with President Moon. President Moon accepted the proposal.
As a result, after three domestic companies' products received FDA pre-approval on the 27th of last month, exports became possible.
On this day, test kits from two of the three companies are scheduled to arrive in the United States late at night or early morning on the 15th (Korean time).
