Gwangyang City Provides Loan Support for '2020 Academic Farmers Development'
Up to 200 Million KRW for Farmland Purchase and More, 1% Annual Support... Initiatives to Foster Professional Farmers Underway
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that it will provide low-interest loans to support funds necessary for establishing a farming foundation and stabilizing management for young and talented '2020 Bachelor-level Farmers Development' who will lead future advanced agriculture.
The support targets bachelor-level farmers who reside in the region and are engaged in agriculture, aged 50 or younger, who have graduated from a 2-year or higher college in the fisheries and agriculture field (including those who completed more than 2 years of college courses but dropped out) or graduated from a 2-year or higher college in a non-fisheries and agriculture field and have been engaged in farming for more than 2 years.
Bachelor-level farmers will be provided with loans up to 200 million KRW for costs such as land purchase, facility greenhouses, mushroom cultivation houses, and orchard establishment (1% annual interest rate, 3-year grace period, 10-year installment repayment).
