From This Year, Personal Local Income Tax Filing Changes from Tax Office to Local Government
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 13th that the personal local income tax, which was previously reported together with national tax at the tax office, will be reported to the local government starting this year, and will operate a ‘Comprehensive Income Tax and Personal Local Income Tax Joint Reporting Center’ for one month next month.
Accordingly, Nam-gu will set up a ‘Comprehensive Income Tax and Personal Local Income Tax Joint Reporting Center’ on the basement first floor of the district office next month, allowing civil petitioners to report both comprehensive income tax and personal local income tax simultaneously by visiting only one place, either the tax office or the district office.
Civil petitioners who wish to pay through online electronic reporting can visit the National Tax Service’s Hometax website, and after reporting comprehensive income tax, by clicking the personal local income tax reporting button, they will be automatically connected to WETAX, enabling them to complete electronic reporting conveniently.
Meanwhile, starting this year, under the simplified reporting system, a personal local income tax payment slip will be sent to those subject to the comprehensive income tax ‘All-Filled Reporting,’ and the relevant taxpayers will be recognized as having completed the report by paying only the amount stated on the payment slip.
Also, to alleviate the economic burden caused by COVID-19, the existing ‘Comprehensive Income Tax and Personal Local Income Tax Payment Deadline,’ which was until June 1, has been extended by three months until August 31.
