40s Charged for Assaulting Police Officer Who Interfered with Drinking

View original image[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] A man in his 40s who threatened and assaulted a police officer conducting on-site inspections of facilities at risk of COVID-19 cluster infections has been prosecuted without detention.
The Namwon Branch of Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Ji-hyung) announced on the 13th that Mr. A (41) was indicted without detention on charges of obstructing official duties.
Mr. A is accused of hitting the neck of a police officer who was inspecting compliance with COVID-19 quarantine rules at an entertainment bar in Namwon city, Jeonbuk Province, at around 9:10 p.m. on the 27th of last month, verbally abusing and threatening the officer, and threatening to poke the officer's eyes with his finger.
