Mudeungsan Office Strengthens Patrols to Prevent Illegal Activities in Spring
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Mudeungsan National Park Office of the Korea National Park Service (Director Jeong Yongsang) announced on the 13th that it will intensify on-site patrols from the 18th of this month to the 17th of next month to prevent illegal and disorderly acts during the spring season.
This enhanced on-site management was implemented to prevent illegal activities and thereby conserve park resources.
There will be focused crackdowns on illegal harvesting of forest products, unauthorized entry, nighttime hiking, and illegal parking.
Illegal harvesting of forest products is punishable by imprisonment or fines depending on the severity of the act under Article 82 of the Natural Parks Act, and vehicles illegally parked on roadsides outside designated park parking lots and violations of entry prohibitions are subject to fines of up to 500,000 won under Article 86.
