Seodaemun-gu Provides Financial Support to Academies Temporarily Closing
Support of 1 Million Won for Closure of 14 or More Consecutive Days Between April 1 and 25
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu (Gu Mayor) will provide support funds to small local academies that voluntarily close for a certain period to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The target is small businesses in the education service industry with fewer than 5 regular employees and an annual average sales of less than 1 billion KRW.
Academies, reading rooms, and tutoring centers that close for 14 consecutive days or more between April 1 and April 25 will receive 1 million KRW in support.
Applicants must apply for closure at the Seoul Western Education Support Office and, after implementing the closure, submit the application form, business registration certificate, and closure certificate (issued by the Education Support Office) to the Seodaemun-gu Office Education Support Division (located on the 3rd floor of Hong Eun 2-dong Community Center) between April 27 and May 15.
The district plans to conduct on-site inspections of the applying academies and will exclude those found to be operating from the support target.
