Last Day of Early Voting for General Election... 12 PM Cumulative Turnout Rate 17.8% (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] As of 12 a.m. on the last day of early voting for the 21st general election on the 11th, the voter turnout rate (cumulative) was recorded at 17.8%.
According to the National Election Commission, out of a total of 43,994,247 registered voters, 7,833,714 have participated in early voting since it began at 6 a.m. the previous day.
Among the 17 cities and provinces nationwide, Jeonnam had the highest turnout rate at 25.7%. This was followed by Jeonbuk at 24.6%, Gwangju at 21.9%, Sejong at 20.8%, Gyeongbuk at 19.9%, Gangwon at 19.8%, Gyeongnam at 18.4%, Chungbuk at 18.0%, Seoul at 17.8%, Daejeon at 17.8%, Chungnam at 17.3%, Jeju at 17.0%, Ulsan at 16.8%, Busan at 16.7%, Incheon at 16.2%, and Gyeonggi at 15.7%. The region with the lowest turnout was Daegu, recording 15.2%.
At 11 a.m. on the last day of early voting during the 20th general election in 2016, the turnout rate was 7.8%. At the same time during the 2018 local elections, it was 13.0%.

Early voting can be done at 3,508 polling stations nationwide until 6 p.m. on the day, by bringing an ID without a separate absentee report. The locations of early voting stations can be checked on the NEC website (www.nec.go.kr) or by calling the representative number (☎1390).
