Hosting Korea-France Video Seminar... Sharing Korea's COVID-19 Overcoming Strategies
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 10th that it held a Korea-France online seminar related to the response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The online seminar was held on the 9th at the request of David Pierre Jalicong, President of the Korea-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Heo Jang, Deputy Director General of International Economic Management at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (hereinafter Deputy Vice Minister), attended the seminar and shared Korea's experience in COVID-19 response policies.
Deputy Vice Minister Heo said, "Korea has a flawless emergency response system in both quarantine and economic sectors," adding, "A key background for the success of this response system was the mature civic consciousness of the Korean people." He then presented diagnosis, epidemiological investigation, treatment, and citizen participation as specific examples of Korea's quarantine measures.
In addition, he introduced Korea's strengths as innovative ICT-based systems such as self-quarantine and diagnostic apps, drive-through testing, and mobile phone location information analysis.
