Gimhae City Advances Senior Job Activity Payments Suspended Due to 'COVID-19'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 10th that it will provide advance payment of the March activity allowance to those who wish, as the suspension period of public interest activities for senior citizen jobs has been prolonged due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The public interest activity project for senior citizen jobs in Gimhae City has been suspended since the end of February to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Accordingly, there are concerns about the financial difficulties of the elderly currently participating in the jobs.
A total of 3,660 elderly people participate in the senior citizen job program, and the salary is 300,000 KRW per person based on 30 hours per month. The city plans to extend the working hours by the amount of the advance payment once the project resumes.
