Police Officer Booked for Crashing into Traffic Sign While Drunk Driving
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Western Police Station announced on the 9th that they have arrested and are investigating Sergeant A, a member of the riot police, on charges of drunk driving and colliding with traffic facilities (violation of the Road Traffic Act).
Sergeant A is suspected of drinking and driving and hitting a traffic sign at an intersection in Dongcheon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, at around 11:17 PM the previous day.
Investigations revealed that Sergeant A caused the accident while driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.121%, which is above the license cancellation limit.
The police are expected to review disciplinary actions against Sergeant A after completing a thorough investigation.
