Songpa-gu Operates Job Mentoring for Young Job Seekers
Twice a Month at Munjeong Biz Valley Job Hub Center: Current Mentors Share Employment Know-How... April Sessions Held Online via Video Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is operating a ‘Job Mentoring’ program at the Munjeong Biz Valley Job Hub Center for young job seekers.
Recently, as blind recruitment by companies has expanded, job seekers’ job competencies and experience have become even more important.
Accordingly, Songpa-gu has prepared a mentoring program involving current employees of major domestic companies. Through vivid job-centered mentoring with current employees, the program aims to provide young job seekers with the latest employment information and help strengthen their capabilities.
This program is held at the ‘Munjeong Biz Valley Job Hub Center,’ a multi-purpose comprehensive job space operated by Songpa-gu. Starting this month, it will be held every second and fourth Thursday at 7 p.m. until November this year.
Each month, current mentors from major domestic companies participate to provide information related to jobs and employment. They share know-how on employment preparation, including core competencies required for the job, writing self-introduction letters and resumes, and interviews. A Q&A session is also provided to ask and answer questions that participants have been curious about.
On the 9th of this month, a current employee from LG Uplus’s domestic sales division will participate, and on the 23rd, a current employee from SK Telecom’s marketing division will join. Originally, the district planned on-site lectures where job seekers and current employees could meet directly at the Job Hub Center, but to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the April program will be conducted in a non-face-to-face online format.
The program will be conducted via video special lectures, allowing for free Q&A.
This job mentoring is open to all young job seekers, and applications can be made through the ‘Itda’ website (www.itdaa.net). The course is free of charge.
In addition, the Munjeong Biz Valley Job Hub Center in Songpa-gu operates the ‘All-in-One Job Service’ on a regular basis. It supports young job seekers with programs such as △personality and vocational psychology tests △resume and self-introduction letter clinics with professional counselors △AI and VR interview experiences △employment placement and job matching. However, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, study groups or space rentals involving more than five people are restricted. The All-in-One Job Service operates on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and inquiries can be made to the Munjeong Biz Valley Job Hub Center.
