Gangnam-gu Reports Confirmed COVID-19 Patients for Unauthorized Quarantine Violations
A Female Confirmed Case (64, Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul) Who Left Without Permission Reported to Gangnam Police Station on the 5th for Violating the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act... Third Report
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) reported a female confirmed COVID-19 patient (64, Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul) who left quarantine without permission during her self-isolation period to the Gangnam Police Station on the 5th for violating the "Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act."
The confirmed patient who was reported this time was classified as a contact of a confirmed case and received a self-quarantine notice on the 1st, but left quarantine without permission on the 2nd, went to work arbitrarily, then visited the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center for a specimen test, dined at a restaurant, and returned home.
Gangnam-gu traced the confirmed patient's movements through epidemiological investigation, conducted disinfection, identified contacts, and placed them under self-quarantine. Including two others who were reported to the Gangnam Police Station last month for unauthorized quarantine violations, this is the third case.
Gangnam-gu has established a cooperative system with Gangnam and Suseo Police Stations, where monitoring officers (district office staff) and police officers conduct unannounced visits to self-quarantined individuals once a day.
If a self-quarantined person cannot be reached by phone or is not at the quarantine location, the system immediately checks for unauthorized departure using CCTV and other means, operating a thorough management system.
