The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office Digital Sex Crime Special Investigation Task Force (led by Chief Prosecutor Yoo Hyun-jung) is conducting a confrontation investigation on the afternoon of the 5th between Jo and Cheon Mo (29), a Grade 8 public official from Geoje City, who is also accused of operating the Baksa Room with Jo.
The prosecution, having summoned and investigated Jo and Cheon separately the previous day, is known to have called both again to verify conflicting statements between the two through the confrontation investigation.
Before the confrontation investigation, the prosecution conducted the 9th summons investigation of Jo from 2 p.m., and started the confrontation investigation at 2:50 p.m., they reported.
The confrontation investigation is expected to continue until late afternoon. Currently, only Cheon's lawyer is participating in the confrontation investigation, and Jo's lawyer is expected to join after dinner.
Cheon was arrested in January on charges including filming sexual exploitation videos of multiple women, including minors. He was already indicted on February 4 and is currently on trial. The prosecution focused on intensively questioning Cheon about his involvement in operating the Baksa Room through additional investigations.
The prosecution is concentrating on supplementary investigations regarding Jo's charges in the 'Baksa Room' case and clarifying the conspiracy relationship with accomplices.
The prosecution has given up holidays and weekends to summon and investigate Jo. Jo's second detention period is set to expire on the 13th, leaving only eight days for the prosecution to conduct investigations.
