According to the real-time international statistics site Worldometer on the 4th (local time), the cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths was recorded at approximately 61,100 on that day.
By country, Italy has the highest number with 14,681 deaths, followed by Spain with 11,744, the United States with 7,406, France with 6,507, the United Kingdom with 4,313, Iran with 3,452, and China with 3,326.
