[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Lee Kang-rae, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate for Namwon, Imsil, and Sunchang in Jeonbuk, announced a pledge on the 3rd to establish obstetrics and gynecology facilities and a public postpartum care center in Namwon.
Candidate Lee Kang-rae stated, “Many citizens have to receive medical treatment at hospitals in Jeonju or Gwangju, which are an hour away, when their children are sick at night,” and explained, “Due to the lack of postpartum care centers, people are forced to travel to nearby large cities for childbirth.”
He said, “Currently, Namwon City urgently needs to establish a 24-hour emergency medical system for infants and improve the childbirth environment,” and pledged, “We will definitely establish a public postpartum care center to improve the quality of medical services for mothers and newborns and to create a safe 24-hour child-rearing environment.”
