Naver Band Sees Surge in Use for Online Schooling Amid COVID-19
'2020 New Semester Band Campaign' Surpasses 40,000 Created Bands
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver announced on the 3rd that its social networking service (SNS) Band has seen a surge in usage ahead of online school openings due to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to Naver, since the launch of the '2020 New Semester Band Campaign' on the 2nd of last month, the number of Bands created has surpassed approximately 40,000. The number of users has reached about 330,000. Naver stated, "It is useful as a communication platform between teachers and students because attendance checks, live broadcasts, and assignment submissions are all possible on a single platform."

In particular, with the spread of non-face-to-face culture, the number of groups using the live broadcast feature increased more than tenfold compared to January, and the number of broadcasts increased about twelvefold.
