Daegu COVID-19 Confirmed Internal Medicine Doctor Dies... First Death of Medical Worker in Korea (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] An internal medicine doctor who was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Daegu died on the 3rd. This is the first case of a medical professional's death in the country.
According to Daegu City and Kyungpook National University Hospital, at around 9:52 a.m. on the same day, Dr. A (59), an internal medicine doctor who was hospitalized and receiving treatment at this hospital, passed away. The patient was a Daegu citizen and operated a private clinic in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk.
He was diagnosed with COVID-19 on the 19th of last month and was admitted to Kyungpook National University Hospital. It is known that he was infected after contact with a confirmed patient during outpatient treatment in February.
