The Sisam Maek Literary Award Goes to 'My Lover Lives in Granada'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jong-gil] This year, the Sisanmang Works Award was given to the poem "My Lover Lives in Granada" by poet Oneul. The quarterly magazine "Sisanmaek" announced on the 3rd that it selected this work after judging nine nominated pieces published in last year's issues. The judging panel commented, "The poem smoothly weaves the discord between loving and being loved, the conflict between sorrow and madness, traversing sounds and colors, loanwords and archaic words, colloquial and conceptual language, completing a mysterious poem." Oneul debuted in 2006 with the quarterly "Seosi." He received the Arko Creative Fund and published the poetry collection "Nabiya, Naya." The award ceremony will be held on the 16th at the Jogyesa Korean Buddhist History and Culture Memorial Hall in Jongno-gu.
