Government Supports US Proposal to Resolve Venezuela Crisis
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 2nd, the government expressed its welcome and support for the recent proposal by the U.S. government for a 'democratic transition system' to resolve the crisis in Venezuela.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a spokesperson's statement that "the government hopes that, according to the proposal, free and fair presidential and general elections will be held in Venezuela, leading to the prompt restoration of stability and democracy in Venezuela."
It added, "The government has a deep interest in the humanitarian crisis faced by the Venezuelan people and plans to continue participating in the joint efforts of the international community."
