As the COVID-19 impact has entered a prolonged phase, the city quickly established the basis for the reduction by revising an ordinance during the 239th Suncheon City Council extraordinary session held in March, which reduces water and sewage usage fees by 50% for three months to alleviate the economic burden on self-employed and small business owners.
The reduction targets small-scale general businesses and public bathhouses, and benefits will apply to charges billed from April to June. However, government offices, small and medium enterprises, and schools are excluded from the reduction.
