Gominjeong Supporter Im Jongseok: "Oh Sehoon is a Transient Politician... Not Suitable for Gwangjin"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Former Presidential Chief of Staff Im Jong-seok on the 2nd joined the campaign rally supporting Go Min-jeong, the Democratic Party candidate for Seoul Gwangjin District, saying, "It is very important whether we can ignite a new spark of hope in Korean politics through this general election."
At Go's campaign kickoff event that day, Im said, "I urge you to make a choice that plants and nurtures a small tree of hope in Korean politics."
Regarding candidate Go, Im emphasized, "She is the person who understands President Moon's philosophy, policies, and spirit most accurately," adding, "Go has learned and prepared abundantly at the Blue House."
Im also criticized Go's competitor, Oh Se-hoon of the United Future Party, calling him a 'passing guest.' Im stated, "Oh Se-hoon and Gwangjin do not fit well and feel awkward," and "He seems like someone who will soon leave. If I were Oh Se-hoon, I would have tried to be chosen by sweating until the last drop in Jongno, where I was not chosen twice."
He continued, "There is an old saying that the heart keeps going to the bean field," and "If I were a journalist, I might have called it 'bean field politics.' It is passing guest politics where a visitor stays for just one night."
Candidate Go said that day, "I will now become the face of Gwangjin. Please place Gwangjin at the center of Korea," and "I will pour all the strength of Gwangjin, all my abilities, and all my passion."
She added, "From now on, I will do my best with all my strength together with you. I believe Go Min-jeong is not alone," and "Holding hands with countless people of Gwangjin, I will do my utmost to protect the power of the candlelight and complete the Moon Jae-in administration."

Meanwhile, candidate Oh criticized former Chief of Staff Im, who supported candidate Go, saying, "In almost every interview of candidate Go, she says 'I am close to the president,' 'the mayor and the party are the same,' 'Lee Nak-yeon is the sponsor chairman, and Im Jong-seok helps me.' I do not see candidate Go but the person behind her," and "Are you going to vote for a phantom? I want to call this kangaroo politics."
