40-Year-Old Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison for Illegal Filming During Sexual Crime Trial
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A man in his 40s, who committed the same crime again while on trial for illegal filming charges, was sentenced to prison.
On the 1st, Judge Jeong Yeon-ju of the Criminal Division 5 at Cheongju District Court announced that A (42), who was indicted for violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (filming using a camera, etc.), was sentenced to one year in prison.
He was also ordered to complete a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program and was banned from working at child and youth-related institutions and welfare facilities for the disabled for three years.
The court stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "The defendant committed the crime while undergoing trial for a similar case," and "considering that he reached settlements with some of the victims."
A was prosecuted for filming under the skirts of six women with a mobile phone camera at a mart in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungbuk Province on December 25 last year.
According to the investigation, A committed the crime again while on trial for the same charges.
